# Long Pledge

## About

This campaign type is suitable for situations where donors pledge large amounts to be donated over a period of time (in months) in small installments.

## Creating a Long Pledge Campaign

Navigate to **Campaigns > New Campaign > Long Pledge**.

Add the Name, Select pledge frequency option, Pledge duration in months and Time Zone associated with your campaign.

## Long Pledge Configuration <a href="#merchandise-configuration" id="merchandise-configuration"></a>

Add the Basic Details, Donor Details, Availability, Advanced Settings, Cover Fee Settings and Confirmation Email settings as you would with every other campaign. More information on this can be found [here](https://docs.paybee.io/home/resources/general-campaign-settings/campaign-settings).

## Long Pledge Settings

The options are:

* **Hide pledge option** - This turns off the option to make the first payment of the donation a pledge rather than a donation. If it's turned off then a donor can make a pledge to pay without actually making a donation at the time.
* **Hide custom amount** - This toggles the ability to add a custom donation amount rather than the donation amount specified. Decide on the Custom Amount Text or Set a Custom Amount Image or Thumbnail
* **Hide recurring donation** - You can choose the frequency options your donors will see in order to make their installments.
* **Pledge campaign duration in months** - Enter the total number of month's for the donor's long term pledge&#x20;

## Long Pledge Options

You can add your Long Pledge Options one by one or through Bulk Import

### **Basic Details**

* **Images:** Add one or more images for your Long Pledge Options.
* **Thumbnail:** Create a thumbnail for your Long Pledge Option or generate one from your main Long Pledge Option Image.
* **Option Name:** Enter the Long Pledge Name to be displayed to donors.
* **Amount:** Enter the total donation amount for the Long Pledge Option
* **Value of goods & services provided, if any:** Enter the total value of each Long Pledge Option. The purchase price minus the value is considered to be the tax deductible amount for the Long Pledge Option.

### Additional Donor Details

Collect additional information from donors who select this long pledge level option. Enabling these will override campaign-level settings. You can collect responses in the form of text or the donor may select one of the options provided in your question. You can make these optional or required.

### Option Description

Set the description and summary for this Long Pledge Option. The summary is displayed when donors are viewing the Long Pledge Campaign. The description is seen when donors tap on the name of the Long Pledge Option to view the Long Pledge details.

### Custom Launch/ End Date

Control visibility of your Long Pledge Option by adding launch and end dates and times. If the Long Pledge campaign is visible to donors but the launch date for this Long Pledge Option is in the future, donors will not be able to see this Long Pledge yet.\ <br>
